DRAMA, DRAMA AND MORE DRAMA MY MIND WAS WOVEN INTO THEIR LIFE'S AS I READ THIS POWERFUL AND EMOTIONAL STORY OF LOVE, FAMILY AND PASSION. I THAT YOU GET THIS BOOK QUICK AND GET INTO THIS STORY. Omg my first time reading a book by this author and I must say this book was everything and more. You did your thang girl ðŸ˜. Book 1 was ok even though I got tired of reading Ma, chica, and Mama, but 2 and 3 not at all. Everything was so repetitive. How man men are walking around looking like Idris Elba? The timeline of everything was poor and just all over the place. Who shoots someone in a mall parking lot and no one is around? No character build about Harlem’s father- he’s just inserted into the story. It was just all too much in my opinion and unrealistic. I don't even know where to start with this review. This book had me feeling every emotion possible!!! I'm talking tears and everything. Demettrea has a way of writing that makes you feel as if you're really in the presence of each character be it riding through the hood with the crew or shopping with the women. I loved the new addition of characters and the character development. Everyone's lives were intricately weaved together, but at the same time each character was strong enough yo have their our stories within the novel.
There's SO much I want to say but I'm not one for spoilers There was loads of street fiction, drama, street love and tons of suspense. I read this book in 3 hours because it was SO good. Demetrrea definitely did it again and I can't wait for part 3. you would want to right now because you definitely won't be disappointed! Great job!!! I read this book based on other reviews solely and I don’t regret it; besides the repeated words, misspelled words, and grammatical errors, it was a really good book!! I loved every thing about the main characters, I don’t know if I would have been able to deal with all that they dealt with, especially the ladies, but Harlem and Mia were most definitely my favorite.
